Poll: Parental Approval & Digital experiences

On 27 November, ThinkYoung and FOLA hosted their Parents’ Assembly in Copenhagen, bringing together Danish and European parent organisations, youth digital safety advocates, policymakers, and industry leaders. During the Assembly, ThinkYoung unveiled findings from its new poll on Parental Approval & Digital Experiences in Denmark and across Europe.

The poll surveyed parents from multiple countries, looking into parents' perspectives on parental approval for social media use, age-appropriate experiences for children and teens, and online safety. Additionally, it investigated parents' views and preferences on how their children engage with social media platforms and technology.

300 Danish parents were surveyed along with parents in nine other European countries, with 50 responses per country (450 responses in total). The countries included were: Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.

A total of 750 parents were surveyed in the poll between October and November 2025.
