Why ThinkYoung?
"We lobby for young people"
ThinkYoung is the first think-tank concerned with young Europeans.
Our main activities are conducting surveys to find out the opinions of European youth;
organising and contributing to conferences, and shooting documentary films about young people's lives.
Our aim is to make Brussels aware of what young people think.
Our vision is to make Europe think young.
Join us... Lobby for young people!
Our history:
In 2007, as students, we were working in Brussels for one of the biggest European student organisations. We often participated in conferences and debates where the only young people involved were the assistants or interns of Members of the European Parliament. No young people were involved in the debate on building Europe.
No young people were speaking or being listened to at these conferences.
No young people were mentioned as the subject of studies and researches that were presented.
We decided to start an online think-tank where young people were asked, through surveys, what they thought about the future of European integration.
We began to attend conferences, raise our hands and speak up.
Soon we became a team of 6 based in different European cities.
In September 2009 we decided to open an office.
At the beginning we shared a desk in a business center.
In February 2010 we hired our first employee and so occupied 3 desks in the business center.
In June 2010 we opened the first office were we had 2 full time employees and 2 part-time, plus about 10 people around Europe working for our "on-line" team.
In February 2011 we moved into a new office.
Today (October 2011) we have 6 full time employees in Brussels, our own office at Place du Luxembourg and 18 people in our "on-line" staff.
Our future will also depends on you. Please find out how you can get involved.
